Matthias Farnsworth

Dear Farnsworth relatives,

My name is Karen Farnsworth Fishback and I am on the Franklin Dewey
Farnsworth 2006 reunion committee.  We are proposing to honor Matthias
Farnsworth this year with a burial placque.  He came to America in 1622--
our earliest known Farnsworth ancestor-- and helped settle Groton,
Massachusetts.  It is believed that he is buryed there in the Historical
Cemetery, but no grave has yet been found.  His daughter is buried there.

We have been working with the Groton Historical Committee for permission
to place a memorial placque in the graveyard next to his daughter's
headstone.  We would like all who are Farnsworth descendants to have the
opportunity to participate with this memorial placque.  Preliminary cost
assessments show we need approximately $2500 to provide a marker that
will meet the Groton Historical Society's stipulations.

We are asking for donations of $15, $50, or more if possible; made out to
the MATTHIAS PROJECT FUND by June 15, 2006.
