Dear Janice,

I have tried to find the web page at : http://www.ctserve.com/groton/
but neither Netscape or Google can find it. Is there a problem with the
site? I am VERY Anxious to get in touch with Elinor as I have many
families in Groton in my ancestry. I just visited there for the 3rd
time in June, but did not know about the Newsletter or Eleanor's books
then.

I have also noticed a mistake in the Farnsworth section of the Groton
Founders Series on p. 13. (I just recently found these books at the
NEHGS Lending library) It states that Thomas White who m. Ruth
Farnsworth was previously m. to a Hannah. Actually the Hannah who had
children by a Thomas White is the first Thomas' MOTHER, NOT his first
wife. I first saw this mistake in the Farnsworth Genealogy, and am sad
to see it being perpetuated,

I am a Descendant of Thomas White, Sr. of Groton and his wife Hannah
FAULKNER thru Thomas Jr.'s' younger brother, Asa. Thomas and Hannah
were m. in Acton, MA in 1748 and Thomas, Jr. was b. there in Mar
1749/50. Then the family moved to Groton where Thomas, Sr. was an
innkeeper. Hannah died 26 Feb 1780 and is buried in the Old Cemetary
there. I don't know what happened to Thomas, Sr. and continue to look
for his death date. Hannah was a wife, not a widow, at her death, so I
think Thomas, SR. died after her.

Thomas, Jr. m. Ruth FARNSWORTH 23 May 1771 (Have the records) and they
moved to VT and then NH after having their first children in Groton.

I hope this mistake can be cleared up in future editions of the
Newsletter and/or books and on the web site. Thanks.

Marg McEuen
