<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><font face="Times New Roman">Come this Friday, December 9, 2005 the Scouting Commission in Utah will award To Elma Farnsworth (widow of Philo T. Farnsworth) the Eagle Scout Award for Philo T. Farnsworth.
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Elma (we call her Pem, a name her father gave her when she was very young) who is now 97 and will turn 98 on the 25<sup>th</sup> of February 2006, will receive the award for her husband Philo, at the place of her residents, the Avalon Care Center in Bountiful, Utah.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><font face="Times New Roman">It has taken many years for Philo to receive his Eagle Scout Award.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Philo earned his Eagle Award before he was 18 years of age, but it was it was never presented to him.
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>While on a radio broadcast back in 2002, just before the 75<sup>th</sup> commemoration of the first image seen on T.V., back in 1927,<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Pem was talking about the fact that Philo had earned his Eagle Sout Award, but had never received it.
<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>My son, Daniel Lewis Farnsworth, remembered what she said, and this year he had the opportunity to talk to a member of the Scouting Commission here in Utah.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">
</span>Daniel told them that they needed to present the award to Aunt Pem before she died.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Within a few days they checked or verified that he did in fact earn his Eagle Award and the Award ceremony was set up and will happen on Dec. 9
