The testomoncys of Josiah Parker aged 36 years and
Joseph Parker aged 40 years and Thomas Tarball aged
25 years or thereabouts; testify concarning Jacob
Indean now in prison; that the two winters last past
ye said Jacob has bin ginerally in our towne with his
family except when he was out a hunting and then the
said Joseph Parker or said Tarball were out with him or
some other Inglish men who have geeven said Jacob a
good coment as to his care and wachfulnes as to ye
enemy boath by night and day and by the best inquiery
that can make said Jacob has never bin out a hunting
above once without some English Companey with him & then 
he was not gon above a fortnight and that was about two
yeares sence: the which if called too, am ready to testify 
upon oath per me.         - Josiah Parker

Groton, Decembr 8th l691
   Concarning the man that has accused the Indeins in
prison, he is a man litle to be credeted, for the 2th
day of this Instent at evening: Left Bowers and I at 
Mr. Summers house at Charlestowne, discoursing him 
namely Abraham Miller about ye said Indeans and telling 
him that he was mistaken for these Indeans were not at
Canedy at that time when he charged them; said Miller 
said louudes (aloud?) that if ever he was them Indeans
again out of prison he would kill them; and being a little
cautioned to be sober-minded, he broke out with an oath
that if he were but out of ye country himselfe, he
wished the Indeans would knock out the braines of every
person in Newe England.  This was spoke before Mr. 
Sumers and his wife and severall others: ye said person
being asked whether he was not in a passion some time
after hereplyed, no he was of ye same mind still that if
he was out of ye country he did not care if all the
rest ware knocked their braines out.  To which if called
too, am ready to testify upon oathe per me - Josiah
Parker.

To the Constable of Groaten:
     These require you in his Majesty's name to sumone
and require John Page & such other of ye towne yet went
up to inquire for ye cattle at Pennicook presently on
the death of the Englishman murdered by ye Indians there
lately in a drunken fitt, as is sayd & others yt you know 
to make their appearnces before the Generall (Court)
now sitting in Boston on 27th instant at eight of ye
clock in the morning to give in their evidences in ye
case relating to ye said murder & ye occasion thereof
by selling strong liquors & by whom as they know or
have heard making ye return of this warrant to the
Secretary at or before yt time hereof, you are not to 
faile dated Boston the l5 of October l668 by the Court

    These three men, namely, John Page, Thomas Tarball
Jr. & Joseph Blood - are commanded to appear at the
General Court according to the premises by me,
              Matthias Farnsworth, Constable of Grawton.

Farnsworth, Mr. Ezra, Groton, 25 Nov., age 86; the
oldest male inhabitant.  "The house in which he died
was on the same spot where he was born, and the same
land had been occupied by two generations of the same
name before him; and in fact, was never owned by any
one else but Ezra Farnsworth since held by the Indians.
He left no children but there are two relatives of the
second and third generation of the same name."

The deceased was born Nov 30, l770; the 3d of ten
children of Ezra Farnsworth b. l744 and Elizabeth
(Sheple) Farnsworth; of Ezra b. l703 and Abigail (Piece)
Farnsworth., of Benjamin and Mary (Prescott) Farnsworth
of Matthias and Mary (Farr) Farnsworth, who settled at
Groton - Wyman, from Butler's Groton.

Of the Groton Farnsworths was descended the late worthy
member of the Historical and Gen. Society the Rev. James
D. Farnsworth whose sudden death is recorded in Vol.
ix.p.98/9.
